Even with 38 years experience in building inspection and the construction industry under his belt, Hugh has committed himself to continuing education so he can stay at the top of his field. He believes that because the industry is so dynamic, it’s important to stay abreast of the latest innovations and construction techniques.
Hugh’s broad professional background includes a degree in Architecture, a stint in the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the performance of structural systems and materials failure investigations to serve as expert witness in court cases relating to construction. Hugh’s impressive resume also includes architectural restoration and remodeling of historic residences, which is a particular personal interest of his.
Hugh is a long time member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), membership number 505. Before he turned his attention to building inspections exclusively, Hugh worked for a number of architectural and design firms in the Puget Sound area. His architectural work included design, specifications, and construction supervision for residences and apartment buildings.
